During a White House Press Briefing on Tuesday, Sarah Sanders had to shut down one of CNN political analyst April Ryan’s ridiculous questions yet again when she asked if President Trump was considering stepping down after the recent raid on Michael Cohen’s office, reports Fox News.
After the most recent news of Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen’s office and hotel room being raided by the FBI who reportedly said they were there to take tax return documents when really it was because they wanted to find the evidence of the $130,000 hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
“With all of this turmoil, particularly this last week, has the president, at any time, thought about stepping down before or now?” Ryan asks Sanders.
“No, and I think that’s an absolutely ridiculous question,” Sanders answered.
“It’s not ridiculous,” Ryan responded repeatedly, as Sanders moved on to another questioner.
Daniels has alleged that she and Trump had an affair together and had a sexual relationship back in 2006. Trump has denied these accusations and later said on Air Force One that he had no knowledge about the $130,000 payment that was reportedly paid through Cohen’s office.
The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that prosecutors from the U.S. Attorneys’ Office in the Southern District of New York requested records of the payment.
Trump has persistently said that this kind of action and abuse on his lawyer’s personal belongings is an abuse of attorney-client privileges and only points to more evidence that all of these accusations against Trump are a witch hunt, including Robert Mueller’s investigation.
