Things got a little out of hand at a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee today. FBI Deputy Assistant Director Peter Strzok appeared to discuss his anti-Trump texts he made while working on the Robert Mueller investigation. After Chairman Bob Goodlatte informed Strozk he would be held in contempt of Congress for not answering questions from Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy, Strozk exploded.
In an elevated tone, Strozk ranted for a few minutes, ending it by saying, “The suggestion that I in some dark chamber in the FBI would somehow cast aside all of these procedures — all of these safeguards — and this is astounding to me. It deeply corrodes what the FBI is in American society, the effectiveness of their mission and is deeply destructive.”
That’s when Democrats on the panel can be seen applauding. It was a shameful appearance by people who are supposed to be impartial and work for the American people. Instead, they looked unprofessional and biased.
Next, Democrats moved to subpoena former White House adviser Steve Bannon.
