The crackdown on ISIS with President Trump’s new policies is starting slowly, but surely working.

Parveg Ahmed of New York was arrested for trying to provide materials and support to ISIS.

Ahmed just traveled to the Middle East in June and made his way into Syria where ISIS has a stronghold. He got kicked out of there and deported back here. He was then arrested when he arrived at JFK Airport.

The US officials caught him before he could cause any harm to us here. We are thankful for their speedy actions.

“If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. The charge in the federal complaint are merely allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. The maximum statutory sentence is prescribed by Congress and is provided here for informational purposes. If convicted of any offense, the sentencing of the defendant will be determined by the court after considering the advisory Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.”

Ahmed is not new to being on the FBI’s radar, however.

“Ahmed fired off all sorts of rhetoric online. In 2014, he wrote, “USA are the real terrorists.” Months later, he allegedly wrote, “The side of Good is Islam & the Caliphate If you’re not with the Muslims, you’re ignorantly, irrelevantly, & arrogantly on the side of Evil.”

When he was overseas, supposedly celebrating Ramadan, authorities were granted a warrant to seize his laptop. What they found were lots of ISIS materials and speeches.

Ahmed was attempting to join ISIS, but he had no idea he would be ending up in US custody because of it.
